The Process with KING Architect

A Step-by-step description of the process:

1: Free Sketch Session
After our initial contact we will make an appointment for an introductory meeting. This meeting can take place at a time of your choosing, possibly in the evening at your home, or even better at the actual site of your renovation project. We can then discuss your ideas and the assess the existing situation. A cost indication will be offered and a customized quote will be sent within a few days.

2. Design
In this phase the different design options are worked out for your plan. To ease the decision making process Architect KING use a reliable process management system, in which all the aspects that need to be addressed in the project are defined in a clear step-by-step way. Usually different layout variations are presented and discussed at his point, after which a final drawing is made.

3. Environmental permit (building application)
The environmental permit (building application) concerns the assessment of your building plan in respect to the regulations of the Building Decree, the zoning plan, the Welfare Committee and, if necessary, the Historic Monument Preservation Committee. The application form is provided by Architect KING. If other advisors are needed they will also be called in. You will of course be notified of this in advance.

4. Description
During this phase the interior is further developed, and attention paid to the required quality of the materials and finish. In addition, I will provide specifications that indicate the desired finishes for the exterior as well as for the interior, so that no misunderstandings can arise during construction. The desired material to be used, colors and finish are detailed per room in a concise document.

5. Contractor Selection
If desired, Architect KING can help select potential contractors, contact them and explain the project so that clear and comparable offers can be made. I can also assess the submitted offers and advise you in the choice of contractor. With a very good schedule and description of the work, and of course good construction drawings, you have all the paperwork to request quotes from multiple contractors.

6. Construction supervision
Because KING architect is also a project manager, I can help you with construction supervision and the construction process.
